Iconic stepping stones across the River Dove, Dovedale
The activities are endless, whether you wish to walk around Dovedale, cycle the Derbyshire byways, sail at Carsington Water, play golf at numerous local courses, including the world famous Belfry, try your hand at clay pigeon shooting, archery or 4 x 4 off road driving at Yeavely Estate.
Alternatively shoot your friends and new found acquaintances during an afternoon of paintballing or take an exhilarating quad bike ride at Wild Park Leisure. Then again you could simply relax in the peace & quiet of The Old Cheese factory garden with a relaxing beauty therapy session booked through My Personal Sanctuary who will be happy to take your booking and visit The Old Cheese Factory.
Crich Tramway Village
You can visit The Crich Tramway Museum, and show the children what life used to be like or you can take a cable car ride to The Heights of Abraham where you can picnic relax in the play areas or explore the ground beneath your feet in the underground tour. A little further afield are the show caves in the Castleton area, which include the caverns at Treak Cliff or Speedwell, or visit the world famous Blue John Mine.
Arkwrights Mill at Cromford is the birth place of the Industrial Revolution and is now a World Heritage site. You can either tour the Mill or village where you will find some interesting shops and an excellent tearoom.
Denby Factory Tour
Denby Pottery visitors Centre is only a few miles from The Old Cheese Factory; you can take a factory tour, see cooking demonstrations and find some great bargains and products from their factory shop.
Naturally there are a wide range of pubs & restaurants within the area or once again you can avoid the driving and dine at The Old Cheese Factory with food supplied by the outstanding Red Olive Company who cook the most stunning dinners and also wait on you hand and foot as will Peak District Fine Foods; no need to have a teetotal driver with this option.
In The Old Cheese Factory you will find books, maps, and games together with a comprehensive file full of ideas & useful information about things to do and places to go.
